Last Updated: 10 July 2025 · Effective Date: 10 July 2025
Klepsydra ("we", "us", "our"), operating from 118 Lebuh Armenian, 10200 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, is committed to handling personal data responsibly. This policy explains what data we collect in connection with our watch and clock repair services, how it is used and how you may exercise your rights under Malaysian law, including the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
01
Data We Collect
When you contact us or submit an enquiry through the website form, we collect the name, email address and, where provided, phone number you enter. If you visit the workshop in person or post a piece to us, we may also hold your postal address and a description of the timepiece and the work requested. We do not collect payment card data through this website — payments are handled in person or via bank transfer.
Website analytics tools may collect non-identifying information about page visits, browser type and referring pages. We use this only to understand how the site is used.
02
How We Use Your Data
- To respond to enquiries and confirm service scope
- To manage your job record and communicate progress on your piece
- To arrange collection, delivery or postal return
- To send service-related communications relevant to your piece
- To maintain a repair history record associated with your timepiece
- To improve the website based on aggregate analytics data
We do not use your personal data for advertising profiling, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
03
Legal Basis for Processing
Under the PDPA 2010, we process your data on the basis of consent (when you submit an enquiry form), contract performance (when you engage a service) and legitimate interest (maintaining job records and providing after-service support).
04
Data Retention
Enquiry data that does not lead to a service engagement is held for up to twelve months. Job records associated with completed services are held for seven years to support any follow-on service needs and to comply with business record-keeping obligations. You may request early deletion subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
05
Data Protection Measures
Enquiry data submitted via the website is transmitted over HTTPS. Physical job records are stored in locked storage at the workshop. Access is limited to workshop staff with a direct need. We do not use cloud services to store identifiable client data beyond standard email operations.
06
Cookies
We use functional cookies to store your cookie consent preference. Optional analytics cookies are used only if you accept them. See our Cookie Policy for full details and management options.
07
Third-Party Services
We use Google Maps (via embed, no personal data submitted) and standard email services for correspondence. We do not integrate social media tracking or advertising network cookies by default. Where third-party analytics is used, it operates in an anonymised or aggregate mode.
08
Your Rights
Under the PDPA 2010 and applicable Malaysian law, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Withdraw consent for non-essential processing
- Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Raise a concern with the Department of Personal Data Protection Malaysia
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 21 days.
09
Children's Privacy
Our services are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
